Nestle’s Bakewell stay committed to K&S tourney

NESTLE and Bakewell yesterday showed their continued commitment to the Annual Kashif and Shanghai Football Tournament when they presented the organisers of the tournament as well as Topp XX executives with financial assistance.

Nestle’s Brand Manager Andrew Allicock in brief remarks said Nestle is pleased to be associated with the Kashif and Shanghai organisation and is proud to be part sponsoring the activity for a second consecutive year.

“We think that is a great sporting event and we’re happy to be on board,” Allicock stated.

The company donated an undisclosed sum to the organisation.

In thanking Nestle, Kashif and Shanghai’s co-director Aubrey Major said it would go a far way in assisting with the successful staging of the 20th edition of the tournament.

Yesterday also, Bakewell Bakery handed over an undisclosed sum to the Bakewell Topp XX club of Linden to assist in their preparation for the tournament which kicks off on Sunday at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, with a double-header card.

Bakewell’s General Manager Rajin Ganga said his company is also pleased to be sponsoring the club for the 11th year.

It is Ganga’s wish that Bakewell Topp XX win the championship for a sixth time.

He said to date he is very pleased with the team’s performance and this is the reason his company is continuing to support the team.

Topp XX’s president Claude Beckles in response said he is optimistic that Topp XX will come out on top.

He thanked Bakewell for their continued support to the club and promised that his team would not let them (Bakewell) down.
