Wireless Connections, Fullworth’s re-open after October fire

‘Wireless Connections Home Furnishing’ and ‘Fullworth’s Curtain Store’, razed by fire October last, are back in business, and poised to fill their niche once more, guaranteeing shoppers a wide range of household items at bargain prices.

Additionally, customers can expect to have the Wireless Connections Western Union Money Transfer and Bill Express Service back in operation by December 15, Managing Director Maxwell Thom assured.

Fullworth’s Curtain Store, owned by Hardat Persaud, and Wireless Connections, owned by Maxwell Thom, yesterday opened up for the first time since the fire, in a spanking new building, and operating under one roof at 130 Regent Street, Bourda. The building is owned by Hardat Persaud who lost four properties in the fire.

Taking time out for a brief moment, even as excited customers literally ‘swarmed’ the store to be among the first to make purchases, Managing Director of Wireless Connections, Maxwell Thom, paused to give thanks: “I’d like to say thanks to Almighty God that the store is open again today, so that we can serve our customers, with the same willingness and verve,” he said.

Thom said initially, both businesses had hoped for a November 30 restart, but time did not permit. “It was a hard task and a long journey”, he said, “but we are looking to get the Western Union and Bill Express up and running at least by next week – December 15.”

Meanwhile, the constant flow of shoppers in and out of the well-stocked building, making purchases and enquiries, was very encouraging for both businesses.

And with the reopening of Fullworth’s comes good news from Directors Hardat and Ann Persaud, for customers who had items at the store, for which they had paid on a hold-over basis. The Persauds are advising such persons to come in with their receipts and balance of payment so as to be able to take possession of replacement items for the Christmas holidays.
