New Anglican Bishop to be ordained today

Venerable Cornell Jerome Moss

The seventh Bishop of the Anglican Diocese in Guyana will today be ordained at a consecration ceremony at the St. George’s Cathedral in Georgetown.
Representatives from Anglican churches across the West Indies are expected to attend the service.

The new Bishop, Venerable Cornell Jerome Moss, hails from The Bahamas and previously served as Archdeacon of assau.

Moss will succeed the Right Rev. Randolph George who retired on December 31, 2008.

Additionally, on Wednesday there will be a meeting here of the three houses of Provincial Synod – the House of Bishops, the House of Clergy and the House of Laity – to elect the next Archbishop of the Province of the West Indies.
