GROUND Structures Engineering Consultants Inc. (GSEC) was again on board the Kashif and Shanghai annual football tournament which gets under way on December 13 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

On Wednesday, the company handed over the fourth place trophy and prize money to the organisers of this year’s event at a simple ceremony at their D’Andrade Street, Newtown head office.

According to the company’s Environmental Services Manager Ndibi Schwiers, this is the 15th consecutive year that GSEC has been associated with the tournament and because of its growing success GSEC has decided to stay on board.

She said her company is pleased to be associated not only with the tournament, but also the Co-directors of the Kashif and Shanghai organisation, Kashif Muhammad and Aubrey `Shanghai’ Major.

Schwiers pointed out that the company’s Managing Director Charles Ceres was born in Berbice, but because he benefited from a scholarship at the bauxite company in Linden many years ago, he decided to give back to the Linden community in whatever way possible.

The Environmental Services Manager said the contribution of the fourth place trophy along with $150 000 cash is part of Ceres’ commitment and social responsibility to the Linden Community.
