Police confirmed late Wednesday night that consequent upon the kidnapping on August 26, 2009, of Roreema Dookie, 2, of Pike Street, Kitty, the daughter of a prominent businessman, by a group of men who subsequently demanded a ransom for her release, diligent work coupled with intelligence resulted in the arrest of three suspects while others are being sought.

Police added that a predawn raid on a house in Stevedore Housing Scheme resulted in the arrest of two persons who were taken into custody. One other was subsequently arrested, while others are being sought.

The house which was raided was positively identified as the house where the suspects held their hostage and a sim card belonging to the victim was also found in the house. Identification parades are expected to be conducted shortly, Police said.
