TWENTY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Joseph Hamilton, charged with larceny from the person, was yesterday remanded to prison until November 11 by Magistrate Priya Beharry.
Hamilton, of Lot 91 East La Penitence, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge which said, on August 9, he stole from Claudette Harris one gold chain valued $75,000.
Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram, prosecuting, said Harris was in a minibus next to a window when the defendant snatched the chain on Cornhill Street.
According to Seetaram, a piece of it was recovered on Hamilton, who had several brushes with the law.
