Two brothers on manslaughter charges since 2001…

Seeking redress under Constitutional Motion
TWO brothers, Clayton and Dexter Reman, who were charged with manslaughter since May 14, 2001, have filed a constitutional motion against the Attorney General, claiming that their right to a fair hearing within a reasonable time under Article 144 of the Constitution has been contravened.

In their Originating Notice of Motion, issued by Attorney-at –Law Mr. Basil Williams, they are also asking the Court to declare that the failure of the Director of Public Prosecutions to afford them a fair hearing within a reasonable time is an abuse of the process of the Court, and a breach of Article 144 of the Constitution.

It is understood that a hearing will be fixed for September 8, 2009,
before a judge of the High Court.
