TRIANGULATION needs three points (tri normally means three) to work. So, you would need three laptops at different locations to triangulate a person’s position unless you have access to specialised American intelligence satellites or three different satellites to do so.

If you only have one point, as you would with someone using a cell phone, this is called ‘tagging’ as you used the cell phone as a marker or tag.

Triangulation and tagging are two different things. With triangulation a person could borrow a cell phone from “Fineman” and they could then end up the culprit as opposed to Fineman.” Hence, it would be necessary to ‘Verify’ a target whose position has been triangulated which I am sure you would need detailed Police records to do.

Tagging does not require ‘verification’ as the tag is always associated with a just one person unless you use the cell phone as a ‘tag’. Then, you would need verification, again.

You cannot just use a tag to verify someone location unless you have the Map of Guyana preloaded which I am certain that this little company in America did not have on the off-chance a Guyanese turned up and wanted a laptop for Guyana. Try finding a SatNav for Guyana in America. I doubt if many people who drive actually have a SATNAV in Guyana.

Since the Americans describe what transpired as triangulation then it suggest that they supplied the equipment to Agent Roger Khan as you would need the specialized access to American Intelligence Satellites to be able to just use one laptop. Instead of three laptops you would use three satellites to triangulate a person position. This is how a GPS system works which is what triangulation basically is.
