The offence was allegedly committed on his reputed wife Yvonne Persaud at their home on July 2, last.

The defendant faces a similar charge allegedly committed on his eight-year-old daughter Stephanie. He appeared at Springlands Court on Thursday, where he denied the allegation.

Police said the defendant, who is unemployed, returned home at 17:00h where an argument escalated over money, and he assaulted the woman and his daughter.

The matter was reported to the police at Springlands Stations where the charges were laid.
The case is fixed for hearing August 14.
