MICHAEL Boodhoo, 49, who gave Police different names and addresses was remanded to prison when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson on a simple larceny charge.
Calling himself Ramnarine Sukbier, of Lot 38 Barr Street, Albouystown, he also said he lives at Sophia, Greater Georgetown and pleaded not guilty to having, between June 11 and July 21, stolen a hand held radio set valued $200,000, belonging to Fizal Ally.
Ally told the Court it was the first time he was hearing the name Ramnarine Sukbier since the defendant started working with him, as a taxi driver, with the name Michael Boodhoo on his birth certificate.
The virtual complainant said, in attempting to get back his property, Boodhoo sent him to a number of addresses where he claimed to have lived but to no avail.
Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram, prosecuting, successfully opposed bail for Boodhoo, on the ground that he has no fixed place of abode.
The case will be called, again, on August 14.
