A FATAL accident at the Lethem Airstrip Road Saturday night has left one man dead.

Police said they are investigating the accident which occurred at about 19:00h, and which resulted in the death of twenty-three-year Clinton D’Oliveira of St. Ignatius Village, Central Rupununi.

Their investigations have so far revealed that D’Oliveira was driving a motor cycle along the roadway when he collided with another motorcyclist, Jermaine Thakurdeen, 24, of Central Rupununi, who was proceeding in the opposite direction.

Both men were injured and subsequently taken to the Lethem Hospital, where D’Oliveira later succumbed to his injuries, while Thakurdeen has been admitted a patient at the institution.
