Crane murder/suicide…
A WEDNESDAY post mortem examination revealed that Simon Boodhool, 61, who hanged himself and poisoned his children, at Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, died from asphyxiation due to hanging.
The autopsies on the siblings, 12-year-old Samuel Boodhoo and Crystal Boodhoo, six, were inconclusive and their stomach contents have been sent for toxicology testing.
Their father, who was suffering from severe depression, reportedly gave them valium (diazepam) before committing suicide.
He was found dangling from a beam in the same room where the children lay dying on a bed last July 18.
The discovery was made by his wife, Lori Boodhoo, 46, a domestic worker, when she returned home from work.
She had called for her children but, after getting no response, entered the bedroom where she was greeted by the horrific sight of her children and husband dead.
The woman said she believed the killings were premeditated because her husband often told her he would end their lives and was very abusive to her and the children.
