Two former ACPs die

TWO former Assistant Commissioners of Police, both retired, William ‘Bill’ Argyle and Cecil Gravesande, died on Sunday.

Argyle died in the United States where he had gone for one of his regular visits.

Gravesande had been abroad but succumbed when he returned home.

Both Argyle And Gravesande were in their 80s.

Argyle who spent most of his years in the Special Branch also held the post of Past President of the Guyana Legion.

Gravesande was well known in the Tactical Services Unit, then known as the Riot Squad. (George Baird )
