Mango thief ordered to do more community service

FORTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Linden Farrell, of Lot 18 Seventh Avenue, Sophia, was yesterday ordered, by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, to do two more months of community service.

He pleaded guilty to stealing six mangoes, valued $200, from the compound of Georgetown Prison Club, Camp Street, also in Georgetown, on July 16.

Farrell was previously convicted, recently, of mangoes theft and was instructed to perform three weeks community service but Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, said he only completed one week.

Farrell said he picked the fruits from the loaded tree because no one else was picking them.

Making the order for him to undertake the further community service, the magistrate warned Farrell that, if he returns to Court and is convicted on another charge, he will be dealt with severely.
