DEBRA Sampson, 48, of Lot 2091 Festival City, Georgetown, had a simple larceny charge against her dismissed yesterday but was ordered to pay $10,000 Court costs.
In addition, Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson made her sign a bond to keep the peace for two years.
Sampson pleaded guilty to stealing $100,000 from Exclusive Styles proprietrix Savita Narine on July 18.
The probationer, who was employed at the store as a cleaner, said she saw the cash in an office she went to clean on Saturday and took it because she had some expenses and debts to pay.
Sampson, regretting the theft from the virtual complainant, admitted, in Court: “This woman is such a nice woman. She would give you anything that you ask for. I don’t know what got into my head. I said it must be the devil.”
Sampson paid back the cash yesterday.
