A father of one was brutally gunned down in front of his home early yesterday morning while smoking a cigarette.
Dead is Rondell Williams, 33, of 87 La Penitence Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.
The man’s wife, Janelle Caesar, told the Guyana Chronicle that she was in bed about 03:55 h yesterday morning when she heard what sounded like explosions and got up to enquire.
“I peeped through the window and saw no one and decided to venture outside to check on my husband; and there he was lying motionless in a pool of blood,” she said.
She pointed out that Williams was bleeding profusely from his mouth and nose and did not respond when she called out his name.

The grieving woman added that minutes before, her husband was standing by the gate smoking a cigarette, as usual, and responded to someone calling out his name.
Ms. Caesar said that her husband had no problems with anyone, as far as she knew, and she is at a loss regarding his murder since he grew up in the village and was well-known.
Williams was shot four times in the chest and died on the spot.
The police retrieved a black hat a few yards from the scene.
The carpenter’s death shocked Albouystown yesterday, as groups of residents gathered to discuss the man’s demise.
The police are investigating.
