SHYNDELL Proffitt, 32, of Oronoque, Port Kaituma, failed to secure bail on a carnal knowledge charge yesterday.

Appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, he claimed he is the sole breadwinner for three families of 10.

But the magistrate remanded him to prison and transferred the case to Matthews Ridge Court, also in North West District, for August 4.

Particulars of the offence, for which he is charged indictably, said Proffitt carnally knew a female on July 11.
