THE Guyana Amateur Swimming Association has set aside this weekend to carry on their time trial exercise on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Castellani Swimming Pool, to select the team that will be competing in the Goodwill Games this year.
FINA’s (the world’s governing body for water sports) rules will apply and competitors will be allowed to enter any number of events in their respective categories.
Entries can be submitted today at the Colgrain Swimming Pool and entrants are required to pay $200 for every event they enter.
The meet gets under way at 16:00 h on Friday with the 200m freestyle, 50m and 100m butterfly and the 50m breaststroke.
On Saturday from 14:00 h the competition continues with the 100m and 200m individual medley, the 100m freestyle and the 50m backstroke.
The event will conclude on Sunday with the 50m freestyle, the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
