THE Golden Arrowhead has just shone brightly on the European Circuit (Bulgaria) with the golden performance win in the 400m by overseas-based Guyanese Alianna Pompey.
Her dedication and courage towards her discipline is one that needs much praises and my gratitude is also extended to the US Track and Field Fraternity for allowing most of the training on their circuits.
Such support coming from the US has contributed to my personal support of some favourites namely Alison Felix (2 times Olympic Silver Medalist) who I simply adore and have great admiration for. She is a gem with grace on the track. Gosh, I would love to meet her in person for an autograph.
Sanya Richards has just been added to the list and it will be a tense moment to see Alianna come up against her in the 400m at the upcoming World Championships in Berlin. I might have to excuse myself during that particular broadcast segment.
As two junior El Dorado athletic ambassadors, Ricardo “Quick Silver’ Martin and Janella Jones are now almost on their way out to Italy for the World Junior Championships in a matter of weeks, I say to them, be proud of you. Take on the world heads with no fear and intimidation and win or lose I appreciate all efforts made with your representation.
On the flip side of the coin; should time allow you to have as much fun as possible for Italy is one of Europe’s treasured and precious jewel houses.
Who wouldn’t want to experience Italy?
