I am writing this letter for publication in your newspapers since we are not getting any satisfaction elsewhere.
We the residents of the western part of Success, East Coast Demerara have been facing with a very disgusting stench in the area. There is a resident at 217 Fourth Street, Success, East Coast Demerara, two houses away from the Hindu temple going west whose whole back yard is a chicken farm. The stench emanating from the chicken pen is very hazardous for our children and the community. Residents warned the owner many times to get the place clean but for some reason or the other he seems not be concern about the odour emanating from his pen since he is not dwelling at the back where the stench is.

We have reported this to the Sanitary at the Better Hope/Success NDC and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a few times and no action has been taken so far.

The residents of the western side of Success are pleading with the relevant authority to look into this matter as soon as possible so as to bring some relief to the community.
