I came across Mr. Hamilton Green’s letter in the Kaieteur Newspaper on June 27, 2009.
His first point relates to Local Government and it dawned on me that there was a good local government programme on the National Communications Network (NCN) a few days ago, which included Dr. Roger Luncheon, among others. Even though these individuals were mainly governmental officials, the programme did provide good information for those who are seeking to create a good local government system in this country. I would advise that our ‘Mayor for life’ Hamilton Green secure the tape of this programme to further add some semblance of knowledge to a man who seems to be lost.
Mr. Green is quite right that we have one radio station, but he seems to have a spectacular capacity to point out the obvious, which is not new information, and so, he is not adding to the stock of knowledge. Again, I would advise that he speaks to the NCN people, so that they could accommodate him for a few viewpoints per month to satisfy his unruly ego.
Again, it is amusing that he would talk about engaging in a debate when he has had such a checkered political career; but I do not know how he will manage to engage in debates, since he seems to spend most of the year honeymooning with Reverend Moon.
Back to you Mr. Green.
