The group comprised Michael Williams, Ivor Marslow, Sydney Allicock, Virgil Harding, Executive Director of the North Rupununi District Development Board and Bryan Allicock, Community Development Officer in the North Rupununi.
After the meeting, Sydney Allicock explained that it was intended to provide them with a better understanding of the LCDS so that they can take back a better perspective of the document to their constituents.
“Anything new gives a lot of fear into people so the more we understand, the better we would be able to operate, and we would like to support this event here. It is something new for all of us and we see a great future ahead,” he said.
Also, it was revealed that the sub-national consultations on the LCDS for the North Rupununi Region will be held on June 19.
Harding, who is also the chief announcer and broadcaster of Radio Paiwomak (97.1FM), the radio station that serves the North Rupununi, is part of the dissemination team that will provide the people of that area with information on the LCDS. (GINA)
