Kidnap/murder of Guyanese…
POLICE in Trinidad are, reportedly, still hunting three more suspects in the kidnap/murder of Guyanese nationals, 28-year-old Narad Sukhu and Vinod Doobay, 22.
The two men, who both hailed from Canje, Berbice, lived in St Augustine and worked at a construction site not far from their home.
On the afternoon of May 16 last, heavily armed men forcibly removed them from their workplace in full view of other employees.
The bloated bodies of the victims, each bearing a gunshot wound to the back of the head, were discovered the following morning, submerged in water at an abandoned landfill in Felicity, Chaguanas.
Govind Dhanesar, 23, a security consultant and Adesh Maharaj, 35, a salesman, have since been charged with the killing.
At their Court appearance last Thursday, they were further remanded.
Meanwhile, Sukhu’s parents, who had travelled to the Trinidad on hearing the tragic news, caused his remains to be cremated at Belgrove Crematorium on that island while Doobay’s were brought back to Guyana and disposed of at Reliance Crematorium, in Reliance, Canje.
