THE Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Cellink Plus Premium League will resume on Friday with a double-header at the Tucville ground.
The League had been suspended because players from several clubs were called up for national duties to represent Guyana in the Annual Parbo Bier Cup which just concluded in Paramaribo, Suriname.
After four rounds of matches, defending champions Alpha United and the Guyana Defence Force are the joint points leaders with 12 points each, but Alpha United have a better goal difference (plus 20) that the Army team (plus 11) and so are the front-runners in terms of points.
Alpha, like GDF, have so far won all four of their games, but Alpha scored 21 goals and conceded one while GDF scored 11 and have not conceded any.
Fruta Conquerors are second in the points standing with seven points from two victories and a loss.
They scored six goals and conceded four in their four matches.
Sunburst Camptown follow next with six points from three matches. They won two and lost one. They have so far scored four goals and conceded a similar number.
BK International Western Tigers and Pele are tied on three points each, but Pele scored three goals and conceded four while Tigers scored three and conceded nine.
Newcomers Flamingo have so far played four matches. They lost three and drew one and conceded 16 goals while scoring three.
GFC, on the other hand, have played four matches, which they have lost. They scored two goals and conceded 15.
