I was speechless with an article in the Guyana Chronicle (06-05-09 ‘Multi-million fraud at City Hall.’

The report states that a $3.3M fraud was discovered in the Georgetown Municipality City Treasury department leading to speculations and suspicions towards workers in that department.

Mr. Editor, as I pen this letter the question running through my mind is how many times has fraud been committed?

Despite the many reports by media operatives relating to incidents at City Hall regarding many attempts to defraud the municipality, I reluctantly gave them the benefit of the doubt.

How can we trust the City Council with the tax payers money? Where is the accountability?

No wonder the government had to ensure that they fulfill certain conditions before the $120M is released.
