Our leaders should have spoken up

I agree with some of the points made by two letter writers responding to Freddie Kissoon. He reported that Jamaica’s Prime Minister Golding said “that there is a country in the Caribbean that goes around the world begging for resources and proclaiming how poor it is to attract aid and he finds that unacceptable”. This statement should never have been left to stand unchallenged by CARICOM leaders, especially our own. If he was speaking about Guyana, that was unacceptable and all of our leaders should have spoken up.
Why our media did not speak out is a mystery. Also Lorretta Brown is right. Our “glass half empty” attitude not just towards the government, but towards life in general, will only affect us one way or the other.
