I write with great gratitude towards the Ministry of Agriculture on the implementation of the technology responsible for the modernized weather forecast.

As a farmer of almost 27 years, this is the first time that I have ever had the benefits of clearly understanding the weather patterns beforehand, an aspect of great importance towards my livelihood.

The simple way in which the weather is now being forecast is easier to assimilate by the common man. As such, the day to day tasks of farmers like myself are made less hectic. As we now have an idea of what to expect, we are enabled to be more strategic in our planning.

Based on my understanding of the Doppler radar system, which is currently under construction, we will be able to get the much required, precise forecasts of the weather.

I recognise that this is all part and parcel of the government’s attempt to monitor the climate change situation. And I commend them for their efforts in making the necessary measures to keep the public alerted of the changes that may transpire. Hence, we are placed in better position to avoid possible crises.
