Appeal for help for retarded Berbice man suffering from abuse

I am concerned and disgusted about a young man being abused in my community, as such I am calling on the Human Services Minister Ms. Priya Manickchand to please look into this matter. Every human has a right to live his or her life free of abuse. Nobody would like to be abused by anyone.

I am living at Glasgow New Housing Scheme on the East Bank of the Berbice River and also the victim, a young man known as Nadesh. He is in his 30xs, he is retarded. This poor young man is living in the care of his stepsister and her husband because his mother died when he was little and his father resides overseas with his step mother and other siblings.

This girl is treating him terribly. The stepsister would beat him, burn him in his mouth and about his body with hot oil, chop him about his body and insults him about his illness. She is treating him like a beast. She would often give him to do all the house work, this is an every day routine and still she has the guts to starve him. I want to know what kind of human being is she, every body in the community knows what she is doing to him, but they still keep quiet.

I donxt know if they donxt have a heart, to see someone being brutalised worse than an animal. He once ran away from that brutality but they took him back to suffer. His thin and weak body is written with marks of violence from head to toe. When I knew Nadesh, he was Nadesh at that time, but now he is malnourished. He would usually go to shops and other citizens in the community to have something to eat. He would often come by my house and ask for food and or money to buy something to eat. I would give him because if you see him you would draw sympathy for the condition he is in. Sometimes he could barely walk because of how weaken he is. There is so much more that is happening to him that I canxt even write on this paper. Someone has to come and hear or see for them self. I am pleading again for help, send someone, somebody in the high authority before itxs too late.
