A MAN charged with larceny from the person was granted $30,000 bail yesterday, after Police reported that the stolen item has been recovered.
Police Corporal Munilall Seetaram, prosecuting, told Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle that the gold chain worth $35,000, belonging to Nedege Rodney, is lodged at Brickdam Station.
The defendant, Ian Peters, 23, of Lot 22 Belfield, East Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty to stealing it on April 18.
Peters claimed he was at home sleeping when Police arrested him for something he knows nothing about.
He has to be back in Court on May 11.
