I agree with the Chronicle’s call for an Inspectorate General that would provide an independent investigative body free from political influence. We need a similar constructed “Advocate General” office to pursue ordinary people’s complaints that seem to be left unanswered by all. This office can follow up on the myriad of complaints that generate no immediate or satisfactory response from letter writers to Guyana’s newspapers. We need a nonpolitical entity to pursue and demand action on complaints that remain unresolved for years. The media unfortunately does not provide the necessary follow-up to these complaints.
