CHAIRMAN of the Local Government and Co-ops Sub-Committee of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) in Region 2 (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr Pooran Persaud has disclosed that Devonshire Castle Cooperative Society owes $23M in rates and taxes to Anna Regina Town Council.

Making the disclosure at the RDC statutory meeting on Tuesday, he said that co-op is in disarray and there are no records of financial transactions over the years.

Persaud called for the intervention of the Regional Administration but Regional Chairman, Mr. Alli Baksh said the Regional Co-op officer should intervene and summon the general membership to meet and address the related issues.
