AMERINDIANS in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) have re-elected their Village Captains, at Bethany, Mashabo, Capoey and Mainstay/Whyaka, to serve for another two years.

A release, from the Regional Administration, said the elections began April 7 at Bethany, continued April 8 at Mashabo, April 9 at Capoey and April 14 at Mainstay.

The release said another election was in progress at Tapakuma yesterday.

Wendell Thomas will head the Bethany Council which has six more councillors while Sylvin Raphael leads the six others at Mashabo.

Valarie DeYounge (Capoey) and Yvonne Pearson (Mainstay/Whyaka) are the others.

Pearson has been at the helm there for several years.
