I am quite certain that it is a sigh of relief for Cpt. Ronnie Totaram now that the case against him being the owner of those ferocious dogs that attacked and killed Charles Roopchand has been discharged as stated in the KN issue of April 12, 2009. However, has it ever occurred to Mr. Totaram that a decent human compensation package to the family members would be a kind and humane gesture on his behalf? By the way, as I see it, the civil case will also be in his favour. Would Syeada Manbodh and other animal agencies/lovers, be so kind to educate and be vocal via the media as to what precautions one must take if/when attacked by ferocious dogs? Failing to do so and no commentary of sympathy to the bereaved, you should be branded as “Dutch axes.” God forbid, but should I have to be in a similar situation on the public road, I will be doing everything in my power to take down a dog attacker/s and there is absolutely no one who would dare say to me that it is cruelty to animals. As the matter of the fact, I will not stand by and see any living human being attacked by ferocious dogs. I am not your enemy because I do love animals, my preferences are for the ones with wings and I am also against animals being ill treated, but the focus is on those ferocious species.
