PERMIT me to vent my frustrations for the benefit of our nation at large. On April 4-5, 2009, the residents of Good Hope Village on the East Cost Demerara were again being plagued by power failure by the Guyana Power & Light Inc. So much so, one would rather think that Christmas is here again and fairy lights could be seen in each home.
Within 48 hours this annoying power outage occurred about 25 times, putting our electrical appliances at the mercy of GPL.
Such poor service by GPL cannot be tolerated any more, and our Guyanese nation on the whole is frustrated because we have to pay our light bills promptly regardless of the circumstances.
It is my fervent hope that GPL endeavours to maintain good customers’ relationship and at the same time monitor their unscheduled power outages.
