Police said the suspect, who was alone, surrendered himself to the police at about 14:20 h.
Limerick is alleged to have brutally stabbed his reputed wife of six months, Beverley Mangru, called Pamela or Pam, at their home at Lot 79 Vreed-en-Hoop following a nasty domestic dispute last Wednesday night.
A post mortem on Friday revealed that Mangru was stabbed thrice in the throat, which left a gaping hole and she bled to death.
