Easter Bunny at Fogarty’s

FIVE-year-old girl Tia Paton was among the many children who met the Easter Bunny at the Fogarty’s Supermarket on Saturday last and were presented with Easter eggs.

The Romans believed that “All life comes from an egg” and ancient Christians considered eggs to be “the seed of life” symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Long ago, in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and Persia eggs were dyed for spring festivals while in medieval Europe, beautifully decorated eggs were given as gifts.

And up to today Easter Eggs are decorated and distributed to children and used in several ways to add cheer to the Easter Season. (Photo by Sonnel Nelson)
