POLICE have detained a man for investigations into an armed robbery at Number 70 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, early Sunday morning. Police said the 00:30h victims were carpenter Gowkumar Ramoutar, 41 and five other persons who were attacked and robbed by two men brandishing a gun and a knife. The six were under Ramoutar’s house socialising after a cricket match when the they were held at gunpoint. Police said the robbers stole personal jewellery, cash totalling $62,000 and two cell phones.
