MURDER accused Michelle Atkinson, 34, was in a quartet remanded to prison after appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle Thursday. Atkinson (no address given) is charged with the February 15 unlawful killing of Mohamed Talbot in Mazaruni and will remain in jail until march 18. Meantime, her case has been transferred to Bartica Court, like that of Leon Solomon, 22, who faced charges of illegal possession of a gun and ammunition. It is alleged that, on February 17, he had a .38 revolver and three matching rounds without licences for them. Vandel Daziel, 22, suffered the same fate following his not guilty plea to a February 4 robbery under arms charge. Particulars of the offence said he robbed Yoa Roberts of three bird cages valued $15,000, five birds priced at $260,000 and other booty with a total worth of $1M. His case will be called again on March 3. The other prisoner on remand, Dexter Zammett, 33, of Lot 16 North Sophia, Greater Georgetown, faced a charge of damaging property belonging to his reputed wife, Sharmella Ramsaroop. He admitted that, on February 18, he damaged clothing valued $15,000 but said he would repay the virtual complainant.
Zammett was ordered to make the payment tomorrow.
