Robber carts away television set of Chronicle cook

THE home of Lisa Dowding, a Guyana Chronicle canteen staffer was burglarised early Thursday morning when a thin-boned man broke into her one-flat house and carted off her 40-inch flat screen television.

The canteen employee lives at Lots 25-30 Tuschen New Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo.

The cook told this publication that she was asleep when she was awakened by a noise in her house and before she could investigate it, she saw a man peeping at her while she was still in bed. Afraid, she called out to her sleeping children.

By then, the man grabbed the television set he had unplugged and ran through the back door which he left open and fled in a waiting vehicle.

The incident occurred around 03:00hrs on Thursday morning and after the burglar had escaped, she summoned the police who showed up and found her ampflier on the back steps of her house.

According to Dowding, the robber gained entry into her house by removing several louvre panes from the side window.

He ransacked the house before carrying away the television set she took out on terms from Courts Guyana.

Police are investigating the incident.
