Toolsie Persaud helps Shaheed Orphanage

TOOLSIE Persaud Group of Companies on Thursday donated 170 gallons of paint to the Shaheed Boys and Girls Orphanage of Lot 157, Alexander Street, Kitty, Georgetown on Thursday to help with the repainting of the building.

President of the orphanage, Raheema Rahaman, expressed gratitude to the company for the kind gesture and for always giving a helpful hand.

Toolsie Persaud Group of Companies General Manager, Ray Sukhnandan, said the company is committed to improving the welfare of vulnerable children in Guyana.

“It is our aspiration to help these children grow and prosper in a safe and secure environment,” he said and assured the public that the company will continue to join efforts with charitable groups to create a better place for the less fortunate.

The orphanage is home to 30 children; 16 of whom are boys. The girls reside at Oleander Gardens, East Coast of Demerara, while the boys stay at Kitty.

Toolsie Persaud Group recently had also made a donation to the Guyana Book Foundation to help promote literacy in the vulnerable Charlestown/ Albouystown communities.
