JAMAICA Member of Parliament and former Minister of Culture and Youth, Lisa Hanna, will deliver this year’s feature address at The Rotary Club of Georgetown’s World Understanding Dinner.Rotary International annually observes Word Understanding Month in February. “World Understanding Month is a chance for every club to pause, plan and promote the Fourth Avenue of Service — Rotary’s continued quest for goodwill, peace and understanding among peoples of the world.”
The highlight of the Rotary Club of Georgetown’s observance of this month is a special dinner at which a distinguished speaker will address the general theme of understanding and goodwill as essential for world peace, a release from Public Communications Consultants Limited said. Hanna will deliver the feature address on 4th March 2017 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, Georgetown. Her Theme will be “Preparing Today’s Youth for Tomorrow’s Challenges.”
Lisa Rene Hanna (born August 20, 1975) is a Jamaican politician and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 1993, becoming the third Jamaican to win the title. A member of the opposition People’s National Party, Hanna currently serves as Member of Parliament for Saint Ann South-East, and was Jamaica’s Minister of Culture and Youth from 2012-2016. Hanna won the Miss World Title in 1993 as an 18-year-old Jamaican from Retreat, St Mary.
