Police need to step up campaign against noise nuisance

NOISE nuisance is a very disturbing thing, especially when one has to face it almost every night of the week after a long day’s work; it becomes a migraine. The police force needs to step up on this matter because the situation persists in almost every popular community.

I understand very well that if you are licensed to play music in your bar/shop, it is ok, but on the other hand, part of the law states that the music should not exit the building it is coming from, that is to say, it must be played in a sound proof room where nearby residents can remain peaceful.

I am involved in business and I know that these days you need to try almost any and everything to make a few dollars, but why do it while disturbing others.

In the town of Rose Hall, residents have been complaining about a popular spot that disturbs the neighbourhood. Several calls were made to the police and other authorities with little response. But what the residents are more concerned about is that the police cannot do anything about the situation because they can be seen entering and leaving the bar with whatever they want at their leisure, as such giving the owners privilege to do what they please.

This problem is a serious one at a popular spot in Canefield, Canje as well.

As a concerned citizen and resident of Rose Hall, I call on the authorities to please have this matter resolved quickly, since school children as well as adults are being affected.
