BERBICE is set to become the centre of Guyana’s drag racing action on Sunday, October 11, when the Berbice Drags Invasion 2026 takes over the Rose Hall Canje Airstrip.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00hrs and is expected to attract competitors and fans from across the country for a full day of high-speed racing.
The Rose Hall Canje Airstrip will host competition featuring a range of performance and modified vehicles.
The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) is organising the event with ENet, Tropical Shipping, Castrol, GuyOil and KFC among the sponsors.
Meanwhile, the GMR&SC will host a mandatory Competitors’ Meeting ahead of the Berbice Drags on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 18:00hrs.
The meeting will be held at the GMR&SC Office, Thomas Lands.
All registered competitors are strongly encouraged to attend, as important information regarding race procedures, safety, classes, staging, regulations and event-day arrangements will be discussed.
Driver registration closes October 8
Organisers are also reminding drivers that registration for the Berbice Drags Invasion closes on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The registration fee is G$20,000. Any registration received after the deadline will attract an additional G$10,000 late fee, bringing the late registration cost to G$30,000.
Drivers are therefore urged to complete registration before the deadline.
Spectator admission has been set at G$3,000 for adults and G$1,000 for children.
Fans can also enjoy the J’s Supermarket VIP section with unlimited drinks and food at a cost of $25,000.
With drag racing continuing to attract a strong following locally, the Berbice Drags Invasion is expected to provide another major showcase for Guyana’s performance and modified car scene.
The event will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10:00hrs at the Rose Hall Canje Airstrip.
