THE PromoTech and Genuine Auto Spares and Tools NTFGL Tour 3 continued in exciting fashion as round three produced the largest single-round turnout of the tournament so far, with 24 players taking to the course for another competitive day of golf.
Under brilliant sunshine, with the lush fairways and well-manicured greens providing an excellent setting for the competition, players battled for valuable points in what proved to be another impressive round of scoring.
The scoring was again impressive, with Chet Bowling setting the early pace by playing the front nine in a net 33 to claim the two points available.
Not to be outdone, Videsh Persaud produced an outstanding performance on the back nine, posting a net 32 to collect the two points. His strong performance across the course saw him finish with an overall net 66, earning eight points for his overall placing and a total of 10 points for the day.
Joseph Szeplaki secured second place with a net 71, beating Bowling on the tiebreaker to claim five points. Bowling took third place with a net 71 for three points, bringing his total haul for the day to five points.
Ronald Bulkan finished fourth with a net 72 to collect two points, while Patrick Prashad rounded out the points positions with a net 73, beating Pantanjilee Persaud on the tiebreaker to claim the final available points.
Following Round 3, Videsh Persaud leads the PromoTech and Genuine Auto Spares and Tools NTFGL Tour 3 standings with 15 points, followed by Chet Bowling on 13. Oliver Downes and Joseph Szeplaki are tied on 10 points, while Mike Mangal sits on 8 points.
The round also marked the first Skins Game of the tournament, with six members participating and 12 skins awarded. Anand Persaud and Joseph Szeplaki led the way with four skins apiece, with each skin carrying a value of GYD $1,000.
With the sunshine beaming down on the course and the competition heating up on the greens, the Tour 3 standings are becoming increasingly tight as players look to position themselves for the remainder of the tournament.
Round 4 of the PromoTech and Genuine Auto Spares and Tools NTFGL Tour 3 is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, with players expected to return to the fairways ready for another exciting battle for points.
