THE Guyana Development Bank is expected to play a key role in expanding access to financing and technical support for entrepreneurs as the Government intensifies efforts to stimulate business growth and economic activity.
Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally, recently highlighted at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo the importance of the institution during a sensitisation session that attracted a strong turnout of residents interested in learning more about available financing opportunities.
Residents engaged members of the technical team, raised questions and shared concerns about accessing funding and expanding their businesses.
Ally said the Guyana Development Bank will provide support beyond financing, including assistance with business planning, financial management, marketing and technical development.
He said opportunities will be available across several sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, tourism and transportation, with Government agencies expected to work alongside entrepreneurs as they establish and expand their operations.
The Minister also encouraged residents to consider forming business clusters, which he said could enable entrepreneurs to combine their ideas and resources, access larger financing opportunities and develop stronger and more sustainable enterprises.
The sensitisation exercise forms part of efforts to familiarise residents with the support available through the Guyana Development Bank and encourage greater participation in entrepreneurship and productive economic activity.
