POLICE have recovered a quantity of suspected air guns, airsoft pistols, handcuffs and a police vest during an operation at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara.
The discovery was made between 22:00 hrs and 22:20 hrs on Friday, May 1, 2026, after ranks acted on information received and conducted a search at a garbage heap along the southern parapet near a trench.
During the exercise, officers found a green duffle bag containing several items, including a Vintage Marksman Repeater .177 calibre BB gun, a BSA 240 Magnum .22 air pistol, a G3 Nightingale airsoft pistol with magazine and a Brass Eagle Samurai paintball marker gun with tank.
Police also recovered the lower frame of an airsoft pistol with magazine, two pairs of handcuffs and a bulletproof vest.
The items were taken to the Grove Police Station and lodged pending investigations. No arrests have been made as the investigations are ongoing.
