AS part of the European Union’s Digital Mini-Mission to Guyana, the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest), led by Chief Investment Officer and Member of Parliament, Peter R. Ramsaroop, hosted representatives of Zetes and EllaLink.
The engagement focused on advancing Guyana’s digital transformation agenda and strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure to support a modern, resilient, and competitive economy.
EllaLink, a Portuguese subsea cable operator, expressed interest in enhancing international connectivity and network resilience, particularly as Guyana continues to expand its digital ecosystem, including planned data centre developments.
Meanwhile, Zetes, a Belgian supply chain operator, also indicated its interest in supporting the advancement of secure digital identity systems and digital payment platforms which are aligned with the government’s ongoing digital modernisation efforts.
The discussions reflect growing international confidence in Guyana as a destination for digital investment, underpinned by a clear national strategy to drive innovation and advanced digital services.
The engagement aligns with the government’s broader vision for digital transformation, as outlined by President Dr. Irfaan Ali.
Senior Director of Investment, Mr. John Edghill, and Senior Investment Officer, Mrs. Gabriel Bacchus-James, also participated in the meeting.
