THE first batch of Nations University Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme, done in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Business (AIB), will be graduating in June.
Among the 20 to graduate from the 12 months MBA degree course, at least two have earned distinctions, doing Guyana proud.
This was disclosed by Director of the University, Dr. Brian O’Toole and Marketing Director of the AIB, Mr. Joel Abraham.
In an exclusive interview with the Guyana Chronicle earlier this week, he said two high level AIB academicians are expected to arrive here for the graduation ceremony.
O’Toole commented that the students’ pass rate was 78, which he considered very encouraging, adding that Nations University is also excited that the performance of the students had to do with looking at a work related issue.
The two best potential graduates were graded with distinctions and their projects are now being considered by Australia for international publication, O’Toole disclosed.
He also announced plans for opening a satellite of Nations University at Skeldon, Corentyne, Berbice, in collaboration with one of the best graduands who is from that area.
BUSINESS PROPOSALS
O’Toole also mentioned other business proposals put forward by some of whom he described as the “most dynamic people” in the first MBA group.
Meanwhile, the AIB MBA programme was recently confirmed as being one of the leading programmes in Australia, receiving a number three ranking in the United Kingdom (UK).
With that rank, the AIB effectively outperforms almost all other MBA programmes in Australia. The MBA 2012 review shows that the AIB was outperformed only by the University of Woolongong Sydney Business School which scored 79 points and Macquarie University Graduate School of Management with 76 points.
In the International Graduate Forum (IGF) MBA ratings, the AIB ranked tenth with the top 10 scoring between 75 and 87 points.
The IGF, designed to give high-potential managers a 360 degrees view of the world’s leading business schools, has assessed the performance of MBA providers, based upon certain key performance indicators readily available in the public domain from various benchmarking sources.
The IGF has developed a global MBA table of leading business schools which were selected for inclusion into the European, North American and Australian ranks, not only to demonstrate the qualities applicants look for today but are capable of challenging the established, globally recognised providers.
