SHERWIN Fraser, who is accused of robbing a man of over $1.5M at gunpoint, was, on Monday, granted $150,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan. During his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, Fraser also known as “Skull”, of Agricola, pleaded not guilty to the robbery under arms charge. The charge states that Fraser, on April 19, 2021, at Laing and Princess Streets, Charlestown, Georgetown, while in company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Derick Doodnauth of $1,506,210 and a quantity of cheques belonging to Health International Incorporation. According to the prosecution, on the day in question, at about 10:15 hours, Doodnauth was driving a motor vehicle on Laing Street on his way to the bank with the company’s money and cheques. While in the vicinity of Princess and Laing Streets, he was held up by gunmen on two motorcycles. He was later relieved of the cash and cheques. The entire ordeal was captured on CCTV camera. Fraser was arrested and charged.
The matter was adjourned until May 10, 2021.
