BERBICE Police are investing a report of gang rape allegedly committed on a Public Sector employee, who was on transfer to the ‘Ancient County’ from Georgetown.
It was reported that the incident took place in New Amsterdam shortly after 01:00 h on Sunday, when the woman returned to her home.
She said, after securing her motor vehicle, she was ascending the front stairs of her house when three men jumped over a fence and attacked her.
The victim said she was dragged into the house and forced into sexual intercourse with her attackers.
Police, subsequently, took her for a medical examination at New Amsterdam Hospital, from where she was referred to another health institution in Georgetown.
